HOW TO ENJOY BBQ
BBQ can be divided into mainly 4 processes, “Starting charcoal”, “Preparing ingredients”, “Grilling” and “Cleaning”.
TOOLS FOR BBQ
GRILL / SHICHIRIN
The most essential tool for BBQ is the “grill”. “Shichirin” is a traditional Japanese style BBQ grill, made of different materials such as diatomite (a type of clay), stone, and metals. The grill we used for this time is “KAMA-ASA’s black BBQ grill”. This wide diatomite grill is perfect for cooking large chunks of meat and fish.We also carry small sized grills convenient for table top grilling too.
CHARCOAL STARTER & EXTINGUISHER
【CHARCOAL STATER】There are several ways to start charcoal such as using charcoal fluid and self igniting charcoal. Though using these tools may cause chemical smell while cooking. We recommend using a “charcoal starter” as a fast and efficient way. Simply put the charcoal inside and heat it up on a gas fire. There are large sized charcoal starters for professional use too. 【CHARCOAL EXTINGUISHER】Charcoal extinguishers can easily extinguish charcoal by putting lit charcoal inside the pot. By sealing the pot with the lid, charcoal would extinguish due to lack of oxygen. We especially suggest using a charcoal extinguisher with high-quality binchotan charcoal since you can reuse the extinguished charcoal. Extinguished charcoal can easily ignite and is recommended for using when starting charcoal.
KITCHEN TORCHES / CHIMNEY TYPE CHARCOAL STARTER
Kitchen torches can fastly and efficiently start charcoal rather than using newspapers as a fire starter. The chimney type charcoal starter can help quickly heat up and start the charcoal by fastening the air flow.
*We do not handle the torch at our online shop. Please contact us from firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
