A bamboo colander each made by the hands of craftspeople in Sado island, Niigata.
The bamboo is also from Sado island and stiffly weaved to make a durable colander.
Since bamboo colanders are unlikely to keep water between the mesh, it is perfect for draining noodles such as Udon and Soba. It can release excess steam from cooked food and is suitable for using as a plate too.
For example, you can drain and serve boiled vegetables or drain deep fried dishes too. Also, it can be used for stocking vegetables and draining plates and cups too.
