Made in Echizen city, Fukui

A durable double-edged blade made of Aogami No.2 carbon steel forged in Echizen city, Fukui. Aogami No.2 steel is one of the hardest steel among carbon steels and has long lasting sharpness. Due to its hardness, it is likely to chip and needs certain skill for sharpening compared to other steels. The blade has a beautiful Damascus pattern made by assembling 17 layers of steel.
The straight smooth handle made of rose wood is easy to grip and can avoid from getting fingers caught when holding with large hands too. Please note Japanese style handles are light and that the balance is different from western style knives.

-Carbon steel knives can easily rust and requires care. Please wipe the blade every time after you cut.
-NOT dishwasher safe
-To prevent rust, thoroughly wipe the knife after washing.
- Apply a thin layer of oil on the blade before storing to protect it from humidity and make it more rust resistant.
