NAMBU CAST IRON
Nambu cast iron is a representative Japanese traditional craft from Iwate. We have been passing on the traditional technique as well as producing newly designed cast ironware, which fits the modern lifestyle.
HIMENO SAKU
Nowadays, there are only a few people who manufacture hand hammered pots in Japan. “Himeno saku” has been manufacturing hand hammered pots in Osaka since 1924. Each pot is elaborately hand hammered by Hisakazu Himeno, who is the 3rd generation craftsman. His works are beloved by chefs and home cooks for its durability and function. Aluminum and copper is a rather soft metal though can be sturdy by hammering.
The hammering process increases the surface area and let the heat transfer evenly. The thick metal can gently transfer heat and prevents the food from burning.
YAMADA KOGYOSHO
“Yamada Kogyosho” is a well-known manufacturer among chefs for hammered iron woks and frying pans. Their special hammering technique makes the iron pans sturdy and functional. KAMA-ASA handles variety of iron woks and pans made by Yamada Kogyosho. All pans we sell do not have anti-rust wax coating on and customers do not need to burn the wax coating before first time use.
